Description

Amateur radio operators (HAMS) want a hard copy license which includes their name, assigned amateur call sign and class of license. But the FCC no longer issues paper licenses. Now what? Once upon a time, the FCC provided hard copies of operator licenses via US Mail. When it arrived, a ham would fame it and place it on the wall of the room where their equipment was located. Nowadays unfortunately, the FCC does not provide official paper license documentation; they say the information exists in cyberspace and that's good enough as far as they're concerned. (In truth, their budget was cut so they stopped providing printed licenses.) To fill a need, KB9AT (an Extra Class ham and Certified Volunteer Examiner) photo-shopped his commercial First Class Radiotelephone license and began providing custom, high quality diploma type License Verification Certificates based on the data shown in the FCC Universal License System (ULS) database - the official government source for all amateur radio operator license information. This License Verification Certificate is as close as an amateur radio operator can get nowadays to the actual license the FCC formerly provided to all radio operator licensees. It's printed at 300 dpi resolution on card stock using the First Class Commercial Radiotelephone license style and color. It ships via a heavy duty flat-pack shipper with a tracking number. It's marked Do Not Bend front and rear to further protect it during transit to you. Your amateur license and call sign must be valid and listed in the ULS database. The seller will not provide license verification certificates to unlicensed individuals or to those whose name and address do not appear on the FCC ULS database.
